Ariel is a character that appears in the Kingdom Keepers book series. She is a mermaid and one of the Disney princesses.
History[]
Disney at Dawn[]
Her first appearance was in Disney At Dawn when she tried to help Willa, but failed to. However this may not count as that was probably an actress dressed as her.
Power Play[]
She saves Willa when the Green Army Men attempt to drown her. In doing so, she helps Willa swim up to the top of the Earffel Tower, where they take shelter. She tells Willa she hardly sees Eric, as he is in the Magic Kingdom. She distracts people while Willa slips on ice, and at the end reveals that Mickey was supposed to be the leader of the characters but he went missing. She also mentioned that the mermaids liked playing practical jokes on the ships.

Shapeshifting[]
As shown in Power Play, it's shown that she has the ability to shift between her mermaid and human forms, changing when she enters or exits a body of water.
Underwater Breathing[]
As a mermaid, she can breathe underwater. In turn, she can last underwater much longer than most others can, and as a result, she can breathe bubbles that others, like Willa, can breathe to survive.
Trivia[]
- In The Little Mermaid, Ariel could only change between her mermaid and human forms with the help of magic. In Kingdom Keepers, however, it's shown that she can transform at any time by entering and exiting water.
- Whenever she has to make a quick change to her human form, she retains her seashell bra and dons a bikini bottom that she keeps tucked behind the bra's strap, which itself is hidden by her long hair.
